Brooke rejoined us in the summer having played previously in our Corringham Cosmos days. She is a naturally left-footed player who was a wide midfielder earlier in her career and is capable of making surging runs forward from full back.

Chelsea
is very strong and skilful player who settled into the team
immediately. She made the right midfield position her own last season but has demonstrated her versatility by switching to centre back for the current campaign.
Courtney McGovern

Courtney
is another very versatile player who can play in pretty much any position. including one game as emergency goalkeeper. She began in right midfield for us before becoming established
at right back and then centre back. She made a strong impact in the back four last season and was awarded 'Player of the Year'. Club
captain for 2008-09.
Unfortunately Courtney suffered a very serious wrist injury in August and will be sidelined for several months.

is another versatile player who can play right across the back four
although her strongest position is right back. Emma was one of
five players who played in every game of our 12 month unbeaten run.
Georgia Allen

Georgia has joined us after spending five seasons at West Ham United. She is a naturally left-footed player who can play centre back or left back and comes highly recommended from the Hammers.
Hayley Williamson
Position: midfield
Age Group: Year 12

Hayley
is now in her fourth season with us. Her preferred position is in central
midfield but she can play on the right or left if required. She was troubled by a recurrent back injury last season and will be hoping for an injury free run this time.
Jess Tuffen

Jess is the first of a quartet of players who joined us from Southend United over the summer. Her favoured
position is right back, but she has given some assured performances at centre back deputising for Courtney. She is strong, determined and confident on the ball.
Katie Wilson

Katie joined us in the summer and has immediately established herself as our playmaker in the centre of midfield where she runs non-stop for 90 minutes. Her skilful distribution will create many goal scoring opportunities for us this season.
Kealy Farley

Kealy is a strong and feisty player who was top scorer with 30 goals from 17 games last season. She forms a deadly
partnership upfront with Sophie Dowman in what is probably the most potent (and possibly the shortest) strikeforce in the League.
Kerri Thomas
Position: midfield/striker

Kerri is another player who joined us from Southend United and another 'old girl', having previously played for us under the Corringham Cosmos banner. She is a robust midfielder who can also play up front. Kerri's playing time is currently being restricted by a persistent knee injury that may require surgery.

Laura is a midfield dynamo who has struck up an immediate partnership with Katie Wilson. Her incredible enthusiasm rubs off on all her team mates and she revels in being the joker of the squad. She has a ferocious shot and is a dead ball expert who will score many goals from free kicks.
Layla Prior
Position: goalkeeper

Another former Southend United player, Layla is a commanding, confident goalkeeper with a strong personality. She is a dedicated player who thinks deeply about her game and closely analyses every performance. Layla is currently captaining the side during Courtney's enforced absence whilst striving to regain 100% full fitness herself following a foot operation over the summer.
Lucy Cooper

Lucy is an ambitious player who improves with every game and is determined to establish herself at the highest level she can. She plays wide on either flank and has devastating pace that ties full back in knots. Capable of scoring, as well as creating, goals when cutting in from the wing.
Sophie Dowman

Sophie forms a fearsome strike force with Kealy
Farley, combining her speed and skill
with Kealy’s movement. She is a clinical finisher who has scored 26 goals in each of the two seasons that she has played for us.
Sophie Drake
Position: midfield/defence/goalkeeper

Sophie
is the
ultimate utility player, excelling in every position, but she prefers
midfield. She also doubles as our reserve goalkeeper and made her debut in
that position. Sophie manages to fit her football in around an intensive training schedule in the swimming pool. She has many medals to
her name and has her sights set firmly on the London Olympics in 2012.
Tia Hart

Tia added another dimension to our midfield last season where she played mainly on the left. Her stamina is second to none, and she does not stop running all game. She can also play up front if required.

Caroline Sheppard (aka Moosey)
Position: Centre Back
Age Group: Year 10

Caroline is a dominant centre back who is in her second season with the team. She has developed well as she has gained experience, forming a very strong partnership with Kelsey Bridges at the back.
Charley Sayer-Payne (aka Chazzy)
Position: Left Back

Charley is the only naturally left-footed player in the squad and, along with Lauren Riddick, is our longest serving player. She is first choice at left back, but has played every role in defence and left midfield. Club captain for 2007-08.
Chelsea Hinz (aka Crossbar Challenge)

Chelsea is very strong and skilful player who settled into the team immediately. She has made the right midfield position her own, but she can also play in other positions including centre back. Developed an uncanny (and unfortunate) knack of striking the crossbar early in the season!
Courtney McGovern (aka Court)

Courtney is a very versatile player who can play in pretty much any position. Her favoured position is right midfield but she has become established at right back and has made a strong impact in the back four.

Hayley Earley (aka Hurley)

Hayley suffered a nasty ankle injury during our trials day that forced her to miss the whole pre-season and the first two league games. This setback has hampered her development this season but she has started to make progress and is trying to establish herself.
Hayley Williamson (aka ‘H’)

Hayley is in her third season with us and is firmly established in a central midfield role where she has formed a good partnership with Lauren Riddick. She continues to grow stronger with every game. She can also play centre forward if required.
Justine Palmer (aka Baked Bean)

Justine joined the club this season and is making steady progress after a difficult start. Her favoured position is right back, where she faces strong competition, but she can also play on the right or left side of midfield.
Kealy Farley (aka Ginge)
Position: striker
Age Group: Year 10
Signed: Pre season 2004-05 (Corringham Cosmos)
Kealy has been the team’s main striker since joining and formed a deadly partnership upfront with Sophie Dowman last season. The pair shared 51 goals, Kealy contributing 25. She notched a hat-trick in the last five minutes of the final league game of last season.
Kelsey Bridges (aka Kels)
Position: Centre Back
Age Group: Year 10

Kelsey is a skilful centre back who has mastered the sweeper system very effectively. Now in her third season with us, she has been unlucky with injuries but her strength and determination increase with every game.
Lauren Riddick (aka Lowl)
Position: Midfield
Age Group: Year 11

Lauren, along with Charley, is the longest serving player in the squad. She started out as a centre forward but has shone since being moved back to central midfield. Dead ball expert, scoring many goals from free kicks.
Leigh Wainford
Position: defender
Age Group: Year 11

Leigh was firmly settled into the right back position before sustaining two nasty ankle injuries in quick succession at the end of the 2005-06 season and then in the middle of last season. Striving to regain her fitness and get back to her best.
Mae Town (aka Whippet)
Position: midfield/defender
Age Group: Year 11
Signed: January 2007 (Corringham Cosmos)
Mae joined us in the middle of last season and has continued to go from strength to strength in all areas of her game. Her favoured positions are left or right midfield, but she can also play up front and at full back. She has an identical twin, which keeps us guessing!
Sophie Dowman (aka Titch)

Sophie joined us last season and struck up an immediate partnership with Kealy Farley. She can turn defenders inside out with her speed and skill which, coupled with Kealy’s movement, creates a fearsome strike force. Top scorer last season with 26 goals from 14 games.
Sophie Drake (aka Butterfly)
Position: midfield / goalkeeper
Age Group: Year 10
Signed: September 2007
Sophie joined us this season from our rivals Leigh Rockets. She is the ultimate utility player, excelling in every position, but she prefers midfield. She doubles as our reserve goalkeeper and made her debut in that position. Sophie is also a champion swimmer with many medals to her name.
Sophie Mingay (aka the String / Tango)

Sophie joined us in 2006 and was the long awaited goalkeeper that the club had been searching for. She immediately annexed the number one jersey and has developed into a very strong ‘keeper with the help of Assistant Coach John Hinz.
Tia Hart (aka Scatty Mary)

Tia is in her first season with us and has added another dimension to our midfield where she can play in either the centre or on the left. Her stamina is second to none, and she does not stop running all game. She can also play up front if required.
